What is Krav Maga Self Defence?

Then Krav Maga is the ideal self defence system for you. Krav Maga is the most battle tested self defence and hand to hand combat system in the world today. The English translation of the Hebrew name means contact fight. The system was created and developed by Grand master Imi Sde-Or 1910-1998. Imi originally developed the system for the Israel Defence forces (I.D.F) and other national security services. Today the system is used by military & law enforcement personnel throughout the world and has become very popular with civilians & celebrities….you may remember Jennifer Lopez in the movie Enough, Jennifer Lopez's character is the victim of domestic and violent abuse and decides to fight back against her abusive husband.

Krav Maga is an excellent self defence system for men, women and children regardless of age or physical ability and remember you don’t need a martial arts background to get started. However, if you are already a martial artist, you will find Krav Maga to be a superb addition to your training! A typical Krav Maga training session combines self defence instruction and aerobic training with students concentrating on coordination, speed, endurance, strength and accuracy. With Krav Maga training you can be guaranteed a tremendous full body workout with the added satisfaction that you are also learning how to defend yourself. You will become physically fit and gain greater confidence from being less fearful.

Everybody experiences the natural reactions of the body when faced with a threatening situation – Imaging yourself suddenly face to face to face with an attacker holding a knife or weapon – In a fearful and threatening situation the adrenaline is pumping hard and you need to react immediately. Krav Maga training focuses on these natural reactions of the body and students will be amazed how quickly they learn how to react fast and without hesitation when threatened or faced with an armed attacker.

Aidan Carroll, Steve Maycock & Steve Folan were trained and awarded their instructor diplomas from Eyal Yanilov who is the highest ranked individual in Krav Maga today and is the chief Instructor of the IKMF MR Yanilov is the only person who holds the rank of Master level 3/Expert level 8.
